Happy, wet birthday boy Duncan
Splash! Goes Annabelle & Frieda
Watching the Leos have fun

We couldn't have hoped for more beautiful
weather for our birthday picnic --clear skies, temps in
the low 80's, and NO humidity (hooray!) made for perfect
Leo romping weather.
And romp they did! 18 Leos and 5 honorary
Leos spent the day splashing in the pond, romping in the
fields and woods, and mooching food off of their people.
The festivities started at 11am, and the
last car pulled out of the park at 5pm. In between there
was lots of time for humans and dogs to socialize, catch
up on the summer's news, and fill their tummies with lots
of wonderful GOODIES.
Between the pasta salads, potato salads,
fresh fruit, gormet cole slaw, homemade cookies, apple pie
AND a doggie "birthday cake" that set a new standard
for canine culinary delights (thank you Robin!!), well,
I don't think any of us will have to eat for a week (especially
a certain Leonberger with a penchant for salami who will
remain anonymous, right John?).
A special congratulations goes to Gunther,
who was presented with his Leonberger Therapy Award patch
by John McRae and Coach. This was in recognition of the
wonderful work he does at his weekly visits to a convalescent
home. Well done!!
So, Duncan and Willow would like to say
a great big "thank you" to Annabelle, Frieda,
Coach, Bohmer, Angie (& Kona the Newf), Odin, Skylar,
Cody, Casey, Roxy, Max, Baku, Gunther, Gretel and yes, their
housemates Mackin and Birch, for helping them to celebrate
their fourth birthday in such style, and also to their people
for chauffeuring them to the event and providing goodies
to keep the people & Leos happy and well-fed.
