Boy, was Beth surprised on Sunday when a trip to Lowe's with Grant and the boys turned into... a Baby Shower, Leo Style!!

When Grant passed the Lowe's exit and I said, "Hey, where are we going??" he got a devilish grin and said to Duncan and Mackin over his shoulder, "Who wants to go see Leos??"

The boys immediately knew where we were headed, but it took Beth a while to figure out our destination was Trout Brook Park (home to the annual Annabelle's and also Duncan & Willow's Birthday Bashes), where we got showered with Leo-Licks, presents, tasty food and well-wishes.

The Leos got party favor doggie cookies, complete with ribbons and baby ornaments, and sported pink & blue baby print bandanas. They also nabbed more than a few of the people treats (including a certain Service Dog who will remain nameless who had her paws up on the table 'admiring' the cake!), and got to play "kill the balloons" and spit-head.

After cake, cookies and presents, the dogs chased each other through the woods on a short hike to see the park's waterfall, and a couple of 'deaf' Leos took a dunk in the river (ugh -- guess whose!).

Thanks to everyone who came despite the cold rainy mist, and also to those who couldn't make it but sent along well-wishes (and presents -- my goodness!).

And, a special HUGE "thank you" to co-conspirators Astrid and Diane (along with Yuma, Gunther and Gretel), who managed to get the word out to most of the Leo folks in the Northeast AND my husband with me being totally oblivious -- it was really a memorable party.

You guys are truly amazing -- Great Dogs, Great People!
